OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Can someone check this for me.......

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

2(4 - 5x)/(3) - 1 > 2(5x - 6)/(2) + 1 The answer I got is : 4/5 > x Is this correct ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

lol...Im here :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I can show you how I arrived at this answer if you want me to

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You are correct, although it's more common to leave the solution as x < 4/5.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

ok... (8 - 10x)/(3) -1 > (10x - 12)/(3) + 1--I distributed I then multiplied by 6 2(8 - 10x) - 6 > 3(10x - 12) + 6 16 - 20x - 6 > 30x - 36 + 6 -- I distributed again -20x + 10 > 30x - 30 10 + 30 > 30x + 20x 40 > 50x 40/50 > x 4/5 > x

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

does that look correct ?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Yes, it's correct.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I should put it like this : x < 4/5 ??

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Your work is correct. I would have finished it like this: -20x + 10 > 30x - 30 -50x > -40 x < 4/5

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Yes, put it like that with x on the left side.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

thank you so much.....everybody here is great :)

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You're welcome. Good job!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I will close this now.....thanks to everyone who helped me :)
