divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (reemii):

start with restrictions. the denominators can't be zero: you have to tell when x^2-9 ≠0 and when x-4≠0. then, to simplify the left fraction, factorize both polynomials.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x= +- 4 and +- 3 ?

OpenStudy (reemii):

x=±3 is for the left fraction, for the right fraction it's just x≠4.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

X-4=0 X=?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

The +- only come when your variable X is squared.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$a \div b =a*\frac{1}{b}$$

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$\frac{a}{b}\div\frac{c}{d}=\frac{a}{b}*\frac{d}{c}$$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that does not help, ...im confused

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):
