if x=m^3 and y=2n^2, write the following expression in terms of m and n, (2xy^3)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wherever there is an x, replace it with m^3, wherever there is a y, replace it with 2n^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do I do if there is already an exponent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

powers to the power of something else, just means multiply the powers together. so ^2 to the power of 3 = ^2x3 = ^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay would this be right (2m^32n^6)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, looks good to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks!:)
