Given the following, determine the set (AUB)' intersects B. U= {1,2,3,...16} A={4,5,7,8,16} B={5,6,7,9} (AUB)' intersects B= ? I am super stuck.... any help??

OpenStudy (loser66):

do steps, now, {A U B } =?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got {5,7} but it came up wrong. I only have one more chance to get it right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AUB= {4,5,6,7,8,9,16} (AUB)'= {1,2,3,10,11,12,13,14,15}

OpenStudy (loser66):

yes,

OpenStudy (loser66):

{1,2,3,10,11,12,13,14,15} and {5,6,7,9} = {empty}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't figure out the intersection of B if it is not 5,7. That is what the Venn digram shows when I draw it out.

OpenStudy (loser66):

no need to use Venn, but if you want, it's ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is N?

OpenStudy (loser66):

I don't know what the terminology for empty set your professor prefer. If he used N, so use it. My prof uses |dw:1372993086045:dw|
