is the regulatory gene included in the operon?

thomaster (thomaster):

You should give more informations about your question.. Do you mean is every regulatory gene in the operon? Or what regulatory gene. I know that the reglatory gene is in the lac operon of gut bacteria. Don't know if every reg. gene is in an operon though.

thomaster (thomaster):

ohh.. i didnt know that If it is in the same transcription unit, then how is the proteins of the regulatory gene sythesised?

thomaster (thomaster):

Take a look at this site, maybe it explains it a little better. http://www.s-cool.co.uk/a-level/biology/making-use-of-the-genetic-code/revise-it/regulation-of-protein-synthesis
