Write the equation of the line given by the following graph in slope-intercept form. y = –2x + 86 y = –2x – 10 y = –2x – 8 y = –2x + 10

graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, still new to all this. thanks tho.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

np

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Look at the lower part of the line. Can you tell at what value of y the line will cross the y-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-8 I think.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Yes. That means the y-intercept is -8. That gives an equation of y = mx - 8

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

m is the slope that we can also read off the graph, but all choices have m = -2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh alrighty, I kinda get it now, Thanks! :)
