I am doing an MLA in-text citation for the following sentence: "....had not these been among the earliest resolutions passed at that first triumphant Meeting after Jones was expelled?” (41) I was wondering if this citation was correct.

well, you wrote (41) i assume that's the page number of the source your referring to, but you need to write the last name of the author and then type the page number. Like for example, (Shakespeare 12)

Yes, Zale101 is correct- Your readers aren't going to know in which source on page 41 your information is coming from, and they certainly can't look up a page number in your Works Cited.
