A brand of light bulb is rated to last 2,250 hours, with a standard deviation of 300 hours. Suppose a particular light bulb of this brand burned out at 1,970 hours. Which of the following is the correct way to describe the performance of this bulb? A. It underperformed, so it is considered defective. B. It performed as expected. C. It outperformed most light bulbs. D. There is not enough information to judge.
@primeralph
Looks like B.
well, thank you sir.
You're welcome Sir/Madam.
does that mean that the deviation is kind of like a window span of how long it can vary before its out preformed or under performed. ?
yeah. The deviation means anything plus or minus that is okay. So, 2250 - 300 is 1950 and since this lasted 1970, it's still okay. Anything less than 1950 is bad.
oh, okay! thanks again!!!
