Evaluate q2 − 10 if q = -5.

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Is q squared?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Okay so if you quare -5 its the same as squaring 5 because 2 negatives cancel out. So what is 5^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

No when you square a number, you times it by itself. So it 5^2 is 5*5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

>.< my bad 25

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Like if you have 6^2 it would be 6*6 if you had 8^2 it would be 7*7 or like 8^4 would be 8*8*8*8

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Okay so now all you have is 25-10.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15 yay :D thank you

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):
