How the potential gradient of a potentiometer be affected by the internal resistance of the driver cell?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

potential gradient of a potentiometer is = ir where i is current in the potentiometer wire and r is resistance per unit length of the potentiometer wire. If the cell is having some resistance ,i will decrease as compared to the case when the same cell is not having resistance. So potential gradient of the apparatus will decrease.

Yes Diwakar, I also have the same reasoning , but NCERT class XII book has one exercise question in additional exercise which says it does not depend on the internal resistance
