OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

x2 - 8x +16 = 0

OpenStudy (rane):

@nincompoop go head and explain

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats a quadratic, what do you wanto do with it ?

OpenStudy (rane):

find discriminant

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

i gotta do b^2-4ac

OpenStudy (rane):

the formula is b² − 4ac

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

compare it with below :- \(ax^2 + bx + c\)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

a = 1 b = -8 c = 16

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

plug them and do b^2-4ac

OpenStudy (uri):

I WILL EXPLAIN!!!

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

@rane did u see an -88 on there or no u tell me @ganeshie8 -8^2-4(1)(16)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

okiee uri

OpenStudy (rane):

well the problem was that someone said a=3 b=8 c=2 i should've checked it my own instead of believing that person

OpenStudy (uri):

It will be (-8)^2 - 4(1)(16)

OpenStudy (rane):

this is wht made everything wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm...

OpenStudy (rane):

the answer now is -128

OpenStudy (anonymous):

careful...

OpenStudy (uri):

64 - 64

OpenStudy (uri):

Answer is 0

OpenStudy (rane):

@xlegendx yeah i'll read the q' next time my own

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

0 but whch one 0,one double root or 0, two complex root

OpenStudy (rane):

hun?

OpenStudy (rane):

can u post that list again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\pm\) 0 lol

OpenStudy (rane):

lol

OpenStudy (rane):

just copy and paste my dear sis

OpenStudy (rane):

dont write them again

OpenStudy (uri):

@jazzyfa30 Options? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think she was referring to b^2 - 4ac > 0 => 2 roots b^2 - 4ac = 0 => 1 root b^2 - 4ac < 0 => 2 complex roots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the properties of a discriminant thingy

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

D=1,two rational roots D=40, two rational roots D=-47,two complex roots D=289,two rational roots D=289,two irrational roots D=0, one double nroot D=0,two complex roots

OpenStudy (anonymous):

compare what you just said and to what i just said. i think you'll think of something to think of

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

i think its the 0 one doble root ????????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since @uri volunteered i'll let her confirm

OpenStudy (uri):

Okay i don't know about how to find roots but i know about the dicriminant which i esaid is 0 and explained too.

OpenStudy (uri):

said*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should i confirm then?

OpenStudy (rane):

its rational roots i think

OpenStudy (uri):

@xlegendx Go ahead.

OpenStudy (rane):

yes pls @xlegendx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here's a hint: the factored form of x^2 - 8x + 16 = 0 is (x-4)(x-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the roots of that animal is x = 4 and x = 4

OpenStudy (rane):

yes so i am right becoz both roots r positive so it rational

OpenStudy (uri):

brb quran time.

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

ok @rane do you not see the answer choses i posted them for a reason

OpenStudy (rane):

c u later

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jazzyfa30 do you have any idea now which is the right answer?

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

D=0, one double nroot

OpenStudy (rane):

@xlegendx can u say the ans now

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

that s what i said it is not nroot its root my mess up

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

(x-4)(x-4) ^ ^ 1 double root

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as rsadhvika said, it's 0, double root. for the reasons he stated

OpenStudy (rane):

o yeah he/she is right

OpenStudy (rane):

the ans is D

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

she

OpenStudy (rane):

LOL K

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

see i knew i was right thank you @rsadhvika

OpenStudy (rsadhvika):

:) good work everyone !!!!
