I read it, unfortunately I'm not English, so I'm not able to write correctly what you want, but I post my personal opinion on that, and I suggest you to find out more about the plot on Wikipedia! :) I think the most impressive characteristic that strikes the reader is the author's capacity to intertwine the characters' stories and at the same time to talk about historical events. In a society looking at a progressive changement and less at his history, Follet's work presents like the new version of ducumentary. The key is to write about this subject hidening it under the vicissitudes of noblemen, workers and hopeful visionaries.
