Choose the polynomial written in standard form. x2y2 + xy − 1 10x3 + 14x2 − 4x4 + x x2 + x2y + 3 5x + x3 − 3

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Do you have any exponents in here??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THE THIRD ONE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

didnt mean caps lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it's not C and here's why: the degree of the first term is 2 the degree of the second term is 2+1 = 3 (add the exponents) so because the degrees of each monomial are not going down as you move from term to term (left to right), this means it's not in standard form

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Yup^ I just couldnt tell which numbers were powers so I couldn't help answer haha.

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

So It should be the 1st one. Si? @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):
