can anyone help me with this? you don't have to answer for me, just help me through it please.

the biomass of a deciduous forest is 50% carbon. additionally the biomass increases annually at a rate of 2.7x10^5 kg/hectare. calculate the mass of carbon accumulated and stored in 1.0 hectare if the forest in one year. answer to the nearest thousand kilograms

So we know that the biomass is 50%

We know that the increase annual rate is
\[2.7 \times 10^{5} kg/hectare\]
just checking...its right ..right?

Annually means it is one year. We know that that that much carbon is stored in 1.0 hectare. So all you do is multiply the ratio by 1 hectare and you get 2.7 x 10^5 kg. Than you can continue with your problem.

but that's how they do it around here. they wait till just the right moment to irritate you. and even if I didn't have homework I have one of my long days at work tomorrow and need sleep if I am to be nice and friendly. oh well, it has to be done. so I'll stay up late if I have to.

I mean don't get me wrong, I love that we're free and all. and fireworks are pretty. but I kind of hate the holiday cause people shoot them off at all hours of the night for like a week even though they're only supposed to do it on 2 or 3 given days and between certain hours

I know how you feel... it gets really late sometimes like 1 and 2 am. You should actually go through all your material before you go to class or you will be feeling mental pain.
