what strand og dna would match this strand ACGTATGCCTAGCAT

thomaster (thomaster):

\(\bf\Huge Welcome~to~\color{#00B4ff}{Open}\color{#7cc517}{Study}~!!!\) A binds with T G binds with C So when you have ATG, the matching strand would be TAC. For TCGACAT, the matching strand would be AGCTGTA. Can you determine the matching strand with this info?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would that be a translation transcription or a dna replication

thomaster (thomaster):

In DNA replication, the DNA molecule gets cut in 2 and both strands can be remade because of their unique combination. In translation, the DNA is used to make proteins In transcription, a segment of DNA is copied into RNA. RNA doesn't contain the T nucleobase, it's replaced by U (uracil) So it would most likely be DNA replication.

so the process of makinf rna with a dna template is called transcription right??

thomaster (thomaster):

Yes
