Can anybody explain how to solve this? Find the distance from the intersection of the lines 2x-3y=6 and x+5y+8=0 to the midpoint of the segment joining the points P(2,6) and Q(-2,3)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

find the intersecting point of given lines find the midpoint of given points apply distance formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already got the distance. But I don't know how to rationalize square roots.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

sounds good :) wud be good if u can click on "Draw" button below, and show what u got

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

to rationalize bottom, simply multiply top and bottom with \(\large \sqrt{52}\)
