find the length of the arc with theta=45 degrees, 8cm

hartnn (hartnn):

Length of arc with radius =r and inscribed angle = \(\theta\) in radians is just = \(r \theta\) so, first convert 45 degrres to radians, can u ?

OpenStudy (souvik):

theta(in radians)=arc/radius

hartnn (hartnn):

to convert a degree angle to radians, just multiply it with pi/180

The answers above are definitely accurate, but as an alternative, you can figure out that since a full circle has 360 degrees and this sector is 45 degrees, it is 45/360 of a circle. So you can find the circumference of the whole circle and multiply by 45/360, if you prefer.
