If point A is (-1,3) and point B is (5,1) what is the length of line AB ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distance formula is sqrt((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y)^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well its a triangle...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well its two pointss.....

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

daisyharris so long you have the 2 ordered pairs for each points, it doesn't matter if they're part of a triangle or not, the distance formula as shown by Untitled123 still applies the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay is ee what youre saying now @jdoe0001 and @Untitled123 thank you so much

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yw

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

$$ \text{distance between 2 points}\\ \\ d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2} $$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank youuu!!!
