OpenStudy (charlotte123):

The Industrial Revolution, also known as one of the most important times in history, had both positive and negative effects on society and the economy. However, while the Industrial Revolution had both positive and negative effects on society and the economy, the positive effects outweighed the negative.

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

The First Industrial Revolution began in England. This was for many reasons. First, England possessed rich deposits of iron and coal, resources essential to industrialization. Second, England had many reliable sources of water power. Third, numerous colonies around the world supplied England's abundant raw materials, like cotton. At the same time, those numerous colonies also provided an enormous captive market for her manufactured goods, like cloth. These colonial markets helped to stimulate the British textile and iron industries, and in the beginning, it was the wealth produced by these two industries that drove the Industrial Revolution. During the mid-18th century, the growing demand for goods, such as the iron hand tools seen here, resulted in greater competition among manufacturers. And as costs of production rose, manufacturers sought new ways of meeting the increased demand for their produces without raising prices.

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Due to the Industrial Revolution, there was an increase in production. This made factories want to make more things, and in less time! Did the factories reach this goal? Yes! They did! *The Industrial Revolution also made new jobs for people!

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Thanks to the Industrial Revolution, many inventions were brought out to the world. This not only helped with the increase of demands to make more things for different places in the world, but it also led to an increase in technology! *Thanks to the Industrial Revolution, there was also an increase in population!

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Because of the Industrial Revolution, many were working in factories. The long hours and low wages of factory workers led to a highly significant social result: the development of the labor union movement!

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

these are positive affects of the industrial revolution :)

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Due to the Industrial Revolution, there was an increase of pollution. This was mainly due to the factories. This pollution went into Earth's atmosphere, and it's water. This made things very hard for some people, espicially for the young ones at that time.

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Because of the Industrial Revolution, many women and children were working at factories. This was very dangerous, espicially for the children, as they had to work for long hours and had to preform hard jobs at the factory.

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

these are the negative affects :) can someone please check my work? is everything correct, and is the writing written in third person view? :)

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

lol almost forgot the conclusion XD here it is: While the Industrial Revolution had both positive and negative effects on society and the economy, the positive effects outweighed the negative. Even though the Industrial Revolution caused some pollution and caused hardship for some of the people working in the factory, it still caused an increase in population, technology, new jobs, and much more!

OpenStudy (zale101):

Why can't you put them up all together so i can check em all at once without scrolling XD

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

@zale I wish I could D: but I dont think everything will fit T_T

OpenStudy (zale101):

that's fine

OpenStudy (zale101):

OpenStudy (zale101):

Did u mention the Machine tools that were used in the industrial revolution?

OpenStudy (zale101):

The Industrial Revolution created a demand for metal parts used in machinery. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_Revolution

OpenStudy (zale101):

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

which one? :O

OpenStudy (zale101):

Aww thank you char, ur a great asker that WANTS TO LEARN!

OpenStudy (zale101):

this sentence "Third, numerous colonies around the world supplied England's abundant raw materials, like cotton"

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

OpenStudy (zale101):

LOL

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

@Zale101 XD

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

@Zale101 whats wrong with the sentence? :O lol I must write too fast to even know what I'm writing sometimes >.> then again, thats what u get for having a coconut for a brain -.-

OpenStudy (zale101):

right now, i'm trying to fix it for you to best fits in the paragraph.

OpenStudy (zale101):

The problem with that sentence is that you used to word third to describe the sequences, i think using the word "third" is what made the sentence fragment. So...Instead, do "Last, numerous colonies around the world supplied England's abundant raw materials, like cotton."

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

@Zale101 okay :D thank u! :D

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

@Zale101 so do I have to do anything else I have to add other than the inventions and change the sentence? :)
