What is the volume of a cone with a height of 6 centimeters and a radius of 2 centimeters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The volume of a cone is equal to one third the area of its base times height. In other words: \[V=(1/3)A_b h=(1/3)(\pi r^2)(h)\] Since we have the height and radius, simply plug in: \[V=(1/3)(\pi)(2^2)(6)=24/3 \pi = 8\pi\]
