george bought 7.5 cases of pancake mix for his diner. a case contains 12 1.3 pound boxes. How many pounds of pancake mix did George buy?

One case contains 12 1.3-lb boxes, so 1 case contains 12 * 1.3 lb 7.5 cases contain: 7.5 * 12 * 1.3 lb

a machine uses pieces of tape to seal packages. It cuts the tape into pieces exactly 2.375 in long. If it uses 4 pieces of tape for a package, how many packages can it seal with a roll of tape 1,900 in long?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

1. First find out how much length of tape each packeage uses. 2. Then divide the length of the roll by the amount a package uses. 1. The amount used for 1 package is 4 pieces 2.375 in. long, so multiply to get the total length of tape used in 1 package. 2. Divide the length of a roll by the number you got in 1.

a=200 b=400 c=600 d=800
