(P) - Please (P) - Parenthesis (E) - Excuse (E) - Exponents (M) - My (M) - Mathematics (D) - Dear (D) - Division (A) - Aunt (A) - Addition (S) - Sally (S) - Subtraction

Hey so first we have to subtract or add in this problem since we r using the opposite which I believe it is for these types of problems, do u see anything we can subtract or add on both sides to try to get x by itself?

Subtract 15 from 59 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :) by doing the opposite of +15 (which is subtracting) on both sides, u eliminate the 15 from the left side. so that gives us :|dw:1373310699795:dw|
