so to do this you would multiply the big number by the denomiatar and add the numerator to it. (6*10+9) and that is the new numerator(69) and the denominator stays the same so we now have a normal fraction.(69/10) do that to the other one and it becomes (39/5). to subtract one from the other we need to have the denominators the same. we will raise 5 to 10 by multiplying that fraction(39/5) by (2/2) to make (78/10). we then proceed with the problem the normal way and subtact (69/10) - (78/10) = our answer.
