What properties of sound determine the volume of sound? Is this affected by the motion of the sound source?

OpenStudy (anteater):

The volume is related to the amplitude, or height, of the wave. The motion of the sound source might compress or stretch the wave. That would affect the frequency, and therefore the pitch, but not the volume. Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

amplitude does not changes.. frequency might change (doppler effect).. velocity of sound depends on the medium... in air it is 300m/s
