1. Explain, using complete sentences, how you know these triangles are congruent. These are my ordered pairs I chose. triangle ABC, A(0,1) B(3,1) C(3,5) and triangle XYZ, X(-5,0) Y(-1,0) Z(-5,3) 2. Explain, using complete sentences, how you know these triangles are similar. triangle ABC, A(0,0) B(0,2) C(1,2) and triangle XYZ, X(3,0) Y(0,4) Z(5,4) 3. Explain, using complete sentences, how you know these triangles have no relationship. triangle ABC, A(-2,0) B(-3,2) C(-1,1) and triangle XYZ, X(1,2) Y(3,4) Z(0,3) I seriously don't understand..
1. Find the lengths of the three sides of both triangles. If the three sides of one triangle are congruent to the three sides of the other triangle, then the triangles are congruent. 2. Find the lengths of all sides. Compare them. 3. Find the lengths of all sides. Compare them.
I got that.. I don't understand HOW to do that.
You can use the distance formula. Also, if you graph the triangles, you'll see that some side lengths are very easy to find because some sides are horizontal or vertical.
I graphed the first one. Can you help me with it to help me understand?
