Evaluate and write your answer in scientific notation:(7 x 10-2)(1.5 x 10-3) 10.5 x 10-5 10.5 x 106 1.05 x 10-4 @marissalovescats i think its the first one but im not so sure

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Okay with these, 1st thing you do it times the ACTUAL numbers. So what is 7x1.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@marissalovescats

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

One sec I'm trying to remember the rule lolo.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$(7 * 10^{-2})(1.5 * 10^{-3})$$

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

I believe you add the exponents when they are being multiplied. So that would be -2+-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is did was 7*1.5=10.5 then you add the expontents -2+13=-5, so i thought it was A

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

I believe you are correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay i was just wondering because u said that there can only be 1number infront of the decimal.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

"write your answer in scientific notation:"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10.5*10^-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@skullpatrol

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Okay i was just wondering because u said that there can only be 1DIGIT in front of the decimal.
