so i need to write a declaration of independence from a "dictator" in my life. i need help on how to start off a list of grievances towards the dictator. any suggestions?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Pick someone that dictates rules to you. This is probably going to be a parent or school. Then, find things they do that seem arbitrary or prejudicial in your case.

ok thanks!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah, the main thing is being realistic in grievances. With parents, "Won't let me stay up till 2 in the morning," is not that great a choice. Sounds more like you would want to goof off and they are not allowing it. On the other hand, "These rules have been changed:..." or "Other siblings treated differently in these ways...." are more like grievances.
