y = |x| - 3 what type of transformation that occurred?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

same thing as last time g(x) = f(x)+b takes f(x)(the parent function) and moves it up b units we call this a vertical transformation

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

or "outside" there are a few names...

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

vertical has the most information though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zzr0ck3r so does it go down? Or shift to the left?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

down 3 units |x+3| would shift it to the left three |x+3|-3 would shift it to the left three, and down 3
