Find (1 + i)^8 using DeMoivre's Theorem

Well, in the complex plane, 1+ i is at a 45 degree angle. 45 * 8 is 360 so you wrap back around to the positive natural numbers. The distance from the origin of 1+i is sqrt(2) so you just put that to the 8th power. or 2^4.
