The density of oak is .710 g/cm^3 and the density of pine is .373 g/cm^3. If you had a 1 kg block of each kind of wood, which block would be larger?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Density = \frac{ mass }{ volume }\] if mass = constant (i.e. 1kg block of both type of wood) then, density is inversely proportional to volume so, the one with less density will have larger volume and vice versa.
