How does closure apply when adding/subtracting/multiplying polynomial functions?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Closure? For any polynomials p(x) and q(x) p(x) + q(x) p(x) - q(x) and p(x)g(x) are still polynomials...

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

if you add subtract multiply by a polynomial you get a poolynomial

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

crud.. I meant p(x)q(x) for the last one... derp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hehe, thanks! ::::)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

so the set of all polynomials is closed with respect to addition, subtraction, and multiplication. But NOT division.
