A certain survey conducted had a population proportion of at most 22% for people who agreed. What is the confidence level if 20% of the people sampled agreed, and the standard error of the proportion is ±1%? A.68% B.70% C.99.7% D.100% E.95% (please help)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmm, standard error can relate to standard deviation .... consider this as asking a mean of 22, an x of 20 and a standard deviation of 1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

since 20 is 2 away from 22 ... thats 2 standard errors giving us an empirical rule of 95%

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that would be my best assessment

Thank you very much :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome. memory is a bit foggy on it, so i hope its the right direction. I cant guarentee its correctness at the moment tho
