What do you know about chords that are equidistant rom the center of the circle? A. They are secants B. They are tangent C. They are parallel D. They are congruent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what equidistant means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope! I never heard of the term. XD Does it mean equal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahahahaha it means that all the points/lines are equally distant from the center of the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm doing Geometry online, so I'm working a fast pace because I'm trying to finish the program by today

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahhh ok well lets look at your options first do you know what it means if they are tangent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I learned an acronym for it, but I don't remember it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if they are tangent that means that the lines are just touching the circle. Therefore you can rule that out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay. Would it be parallel then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so if they are parallel they never touch and never cross.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so this is one of the options for an answer lets look at the others shall we as a process of elimination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what it means if they are congruent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means that they're the same. Same shape, same size, etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What does secant mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly so we can rule that out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Secant means that they are crossing so what does that mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That C is the answer, right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it was but i wanted you to learn the terms sense you aren't just taking the program for nothing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay. Thank you so much! I didn't pass Algebra freshman year, and I passed last year, but I want to catch up so that way I can take Alg 2 this year, so I'm doing geometry online

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are a huge help thanks!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The big terms throw me off a lot and sometimes confuse me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahh so you are in high school i took geometry 6 years ago. im at a university right now so let me know if you need help i finished all the math levels up to differential equations aka Calc 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whoah :O Congratulations!! That's a huge accomplishment!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I'm gonna need a lot of more help... haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah no kiddin... hahahaha i have had plenty of sleepless night figuring out some of this stuff and i will be glad to help. Just dont expect me to just hand you answers hahahahaha or else you wont learn.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ik :) Cause that would be cheating. I'm trying to learn all this stuff so that way next year, math won't be as hard.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep so anything else you got a problem with cause i am studying chemical engineering so i can help with math, science (specificall chemistry but anything else is good), and physics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks again :) I tagged you in another question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok see you around
