What is the similarity ratio of these two rectangles? And what is the ratio of their surface area and volume?

OpenStudy (reemii):

you have to find the number \(a\) by which the lengths of the small ones are multiplied in order to obtain a rectangle of the size of the bigger one. Look on the picture, you see that the lengths of the sides of the small ones are 1 and 5, the lengths of the sides of the big rectangle are 2 and (it should be 10) 9 . (it should be 10) The small side of the little rectangle corresponds to the little side of the big rectangle, the sizes are 1 (little rect) and 2 (big rect). Therefore the factor is 2. You can say that the ratio is 2:1. (2 to 1) I said that the length of the big side of the big rectangle should be 10 because the ratio must be the same between all corresponding sides: 1 <-> 2 with factor 2, then 5 <-> 10 because the factor is too also.

OpenStudy (reemii):

is two* also

Thank you (:

OpenStudy (reemii):

ratio for perimeter is 2:1. ratio for area is 4:1. (because of the formula: LxW = (2l) x (2w) = 4 (l x w).

OpenStudy (reemii):

no volume. it seems I forgot the initial question, sry
