Medal for the best answer! 2/5 - 1/3 ---------- + 2 = 1/30

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

I got 1/15 / 1/30 for the fraction but the problem is that how can I add it by 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Please can you explain the procedure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2/5 - 1/3)/(1/30) + 2 (6/15 - 5/15)/1/30 + 2 (1/15)/(1/30) + 2 (1/15 * 30/1) + 2 30/15 + 2 2 + 2 = 4

OpenStudy (phi):

multiply top and bottom by 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have to flip the second fraction and multiply then add 2

OpenStudy (phi):

the bottom 1/30 * 30 becomes 1 (so you can ignore it)

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Thank you all! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem
