how to do a DBQ, like it gave me questions and 8 documents... and then they gave me a thesis statement and i have to use 4 of those 8 documents to support the thesis. so i think it's asking for an essay. so how can i use the given documents to support it? sorry like this is my first DBQ so im not sure how its supposed to be written. -_- like am i supposed to cite the source and then explain? or is it more like a research paper?

Basically they are wanting you to write an essay supporting the thesis given. So your right, they are looking for a research paper type document, but they don't want you to come up with your own thesis as they have already provided one for you. They also want you to use some of the sources given (at least 4 out of the 8 given), and use that to prove the thesis statement, or in other words write a paper in support of it.
