Of the levels listed, the top or broadest level of the classification system for living organisms is called the?????????
Kingdom is the broadest level of the classification system for living organisms
hi yes im here.... but where did that come from?? i mean i dont get it.. what does it mean the "broadest level?"
@Zale101
also isnt suppose to be a domain? @Zale101
Yeah it's Domain. Domain is pretty new. Kingdom used to be the "broadest." "Broadest" means "largest," or "most general." It's the group with the most number of organisms. You know the order, right? Domain >> Kingdom >> Phylum >> Class >> Order >> Family >> Genus >> Species That's the classification order. And as we go down the list, we get more and more specific. Domain is the LEAST specific group. That's why it's the "broadest" group. It has the greatest number of organisms, out of all the groups.
