Help?!? There are many ropes keeping a hot air ballon from floating away before a ballon race. One of these ropes is fixed on the ground at a 45 degree angle. Another is fixed to the ground at a 30 degree angle. If the hot air ballon is 15 feet off the ground, what is the distance between the ground directly underneath the ballon and the second rope rounded to the nearest hundredth of a foot?

Using tan (angle) = OPPOSITE / ADJACENT SIDE tan 45 = 15 / x1 tan 30 = 15 / x2 X = X1 + X2

Alright so this is probably completely off (Trig flies right over my head) Tan 45 = 1 15/1 = 15 Tan 30 = 0.57735 15/ 0.57735 about 25.98 X= 15 + 25.98 X= 40.98 ? :D

yes
