write the equation of the function Attachment to follow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you studying sqrt functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okk it looked like one let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow that makes a lot of sense,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) Start with sqrt x = y 2) Reflect sqrt x above x-axis (replace all y with -y) ==> -y = sqrt(x) 3) Shift graph 3 spaces up (replace all y with y-3) ==> -(y-3) = sqrt(x) 4) Shift graph 1 space right (replace all x with x-1) ==> -(y-3) = sqrt (x-1) To simplify: -y+3 = sqrt(x-1) 3 - sqrt(x-1) = y

I guess looking at transformations for so long that whole process occurs in my head in like 3 seconds lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its y=-sqrt(x-1)+3 still, right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, just follow his advice and you're good! Need any other help?

I have one more im about to post!
