Hi, I'm not sure you need any particular account to participate. There's a bunch of materials and tasks and then there are several online communities where you can ask for help and share your experience. It would be a good idea to create accounts in these communities, which you obviously have done here (and it's also good to have an account at codecademy.com).

You do not need an account to use the MIT OCW materials

No, you do not need any account, however go through the course dropdown in the MITOpenCourseware page into the Dept of CS and EE and then access the latest course. You will see a "Get Started" link in the course description link from which you can start the course
