Mark is using a string attached to a stick to mark off a circular-shaped flowerbed in his garden. If the circumference of the flowerbed is 31.4 feet, how long was the string he used? That is, how long is the radius of the circle? (Use 3.14 for π.) 10 ft 5 ft 100 ft 3.2 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Circumference = 2(pi)(r) 31.4 = 2(pi)(r) r = length of string = ?

ok i think i got it it 100?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10ft?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

31.4 = 2(pi)(r) 31.4 / 2 / pi = r r = 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i had 5ft as an answer and sum one told me no... it was wrong.. so i did have it right in the first place
