What is the equation of a horizontal line passing through the point (2, 10)? y = 12 x = –8 y = 10 x = 2

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Horizontal line...is written as y = some constant number Now with a horizontal line...it can only go through 1 'y' value on the y-axis...so since you have a point...in the form (x,y) of (2 , 10) this shows that it goes through the 10 on the y-axis...so the line must be \[y = 10\]
