y term is eliminated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay... you have \[4x+6y=-2\] \[3x-y=9\] if you multiply the second one by 6, you have \[18x-6y=54\] Then by adding this one and the first one you have \[4x+18x +6y-6y=-2+54\] \[22x=52\] That means you eliminated the y term

oooohh. okay thanks!
