Jeff is holding a deck of cards, and asks you to pick 2. What is the probability that you pick a heart the first time and a spade the second time? He says to put the first one back in the deck before picking the second one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The probability of picking a heart (Pa) is 1/4 ( 1 in 4 chance ). By helpfully replacing the first card the probability of picking a spade (Pb) next is also 1/4. The joint probability P of two independent events heart followd by spade is P = Pa x Pb
