x^2-6x+8=0, then x-4=0 or x-2=0 True or false?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

hint: try to factor the left side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So wait, it is true? Bc x-2=0 bc i can factor the 6 and 8 by 2?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it is true because x^2-6x+8 factors to (x-4)(x-2) then you use the zero product property

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha I half way got it lol Thank you

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sure thing
