Define a variable and write an equation for each of the following. Do NOT solve the equation: The product of a number and 7 equals 49. I know how to change it into a expression, but i dont get what "defining a variable" is. This is my work: 7n=49 Let n=7 Am i suppose to do it like that!?

Yes this is correct. You "let the number be X or some variable" = defining the variable
