idk how to do it.......or i cant figure it out thats wat i need help with

\[3x+6y=42..................(2)\]
substituting equation 1 into equation 2 we have
3x+32-x=42
=3x-x=42-32
=2x=10
therefore x=5
find for the value of y by substituting the value of x in either equations
