No, it is not on a fixed schedule because the only person who keeps track of the work you do is you. There are no teachers or faculty involved so no one you have to try to keep up with. Preview the lessons and figure out how long you think you will need for each one to be able to effectively learn it, and you can create a schedule for yourself if you want to.

As for study groups, I'm not sure. I would say your best bet is either just gather up some friends interested in learning with you, or stick around here on OS and you can post any questions or anything you want help with and someone will help you out.
