Solve. x^2+5x=-6

OpenStudy (uri):

x^2+5x=-6 x^2+5x+6=0

OpenStudy (uri):

Now apply the Quadratic formula : http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/loom/files/2008/07/quadratic.jpg

OpenStudy (uri):

a:1 b:5 c:6 Can you do it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you see that you have this equation x^2+5x=-6 so move the -6 to the other side x^2 + 5x + 6 = 0 then (x + 2)(x + 3) because 2 X 3 = 6 and 2 + 3 = 5 so x = -2 and -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you guys very much i got it now

OpenStudy (uri):

WAIT did you factorize it? @FriedRice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (uri):

@helpisuck You wanted to factorize or use Quad eq?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why?

OpenStudy (uri):

Oh just wondering because she they didn't mention in what way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

quad eq

OpenStudy (uri):

Oh then do the way i showed @helpisuck
