How do yo tell if two triangles are similiar

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

you can create a proportion to compare the side lengths/ angles. If they are equivalent, the triangles are similar

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

idk how else to explain unless there is a pic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean you have two triangles and one is bigger than the other and they show the lengths, how can you find out if they are similar?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

if they maintain a ratio so say 2 x 4 and a 6 x12 are similar, the ratio is 3 to 1

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

the equality will hold, yielding the same ratio for each side

okay thanks
